Bliss Organic Cafe

Bliss Organic Garden Cafe located in Compton Street, Adelaide, are now stocked up with Messagemark Christmas cards.

Bliss is more than just a gorgeous cafe tucked away in the heart of the city. They also stock a variety of organic and fair trade products, an extensive grocery range, house-hold items, vegan pet food, cosmetics, books, CDs/DVDs and gifts!

I absolutely love the furniture, an eclectic mix of retro chairs and tables! Their cakes look especially good and have cute names too like 'Mocha Joy' - sounds divine!

2010 Christmas Range

It may seem a little soon (which is scary) to bring out the Christmas range... But if you are planning on posting Christmas greetings to your friends and family, especially overseas, then now is the time to start thinking about buying some cards!

Don't forget we donate 30% of the total sale to Cure4CF Foundation when you buy through our online store. Please help Cure4CF reach their goal, to develop a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

The Creative Duo at Bowerbird

It's an exciting time in my creative world. My husband Denis and I are having a stand side-by-side at the Bowerbird Bazaar in October. This will be the first time that we have ever exhibited at the same event.

In the background I have been helping Denis work out the set-up of his stand, the print selection, and some general marketing! It is his first time to take his photography to market. Check out the Ball of Light website for a sneak preview. I am very proud of what Denis has achieved in just over a year of photography and I can't wait to see our stands all set up!

WHERE: Queen's Theatre Adelaide
WHEN: 8 - 10th October 2010

Mathilda's Market

Just to be ultra crazy I decided to do yet another market before Christmas. Why not I say! I love the market atmosphere and always find myself making so many new friends. It is also fab to meet my customers face to face.

The 2010 Christmas range will be available, as well as a couple special market products.

my travelling saleschick!

My distributor Lauren from the Green Suitcase is 'pedalling' messagemark all over Copenhagen ....on a push bike! Yes that's right, Lauren cruises around on her bike with messagemark samples and catalogues in her bike basket and is doing extremely well pushing our little brand.

Thank you Lauren for being such a super sales chick, and for always being so kind to our planet!

Retro Owl Window Display

Thought I would share with you my wonderful shop window at the Messagemark studio. I am still learning and experimenting with the whole visual merchandising thing - so different to designing on paper! Anyway this is my Retro Owl display.

I'm currently planning my Christmas display. Maybe something like a tree, pretty lights, some presents and a design feature to promote my Christmas range. I know it feels way too early to be thinking about Christmas, but I've got to keep up with all those organised folk out there who like sending their Christmas cards early!

Photo Marathon

It's been an absolute photo marathon! 2 days of updating my product photos online and in my wholesale catalogue. Denis set up a photo booth at the studio that I can now leave set-up permanently. It will make it so much easier to take future product shots that are consistent with the existing set.

Simple to make, white cardboard for the backdrop and a piece of marine ply for the base. My eyes have gone a tad funny though from saving the photos in a variety of sizes for web and print. Looking at the screen for too long I think! :(

Time for a break from the computer and onto the next project... packing Christmas cards!

Signs of Spring

Do you remember making Daisy Chains when you were a kid? I used to spend many a Saturday afternoon hanging out in the empty block behind our house catching caterpillars and making these cutsie flower chains.

When I saw the flowers pop up on our lawn this week I just couldn't resist. 30 years on and the memory of how to make them came flooding back. I made one for Denis on the weekend, so who better to model it! He didn't even know what they were - a deprived childhood!

Lego is the treasure!

Lego blocks: playtime mainstay for industrious kids, obsession for many (ahem!) mature adults. Hillel Cooperman takes us on a trip through the beloved bricks' colorful, sometimes oddball grownup subculture, featuring CAD, open-source robotics and a little adult behavior.

The Royal Show

I went to the Royal Adelaide Show for the first time in about 15 years this week. I must say, my most favourite attraction was the Farmyard Nursery. I found myself attracted to this wee bunny I named Baby Biskit. I went back 3 times to say hello to him. Very adorable - they were very lucky I didn't slip him in my pocket!
