Colour Form Shape = Polyhedra

I love the fact that wherever I go, or whatever I do there is always inspiration right before me! Bright colours (including Fluorescence) and geometric shapes are popping up all over the place. Seems to be a new LOVE for many. So I have come up with my own take on geometric shapes, and it's called Polyhedra!

Above is a collection of objects and colours that have inspired me. A necklace from Gretel Girl, the shadow created by my screen door at home, textures in man made and natural objects, and home wares featured in the latest home design mags.

Paper is a flat medium, but of course that doesn't mean it has to always stay that way! Polyhedra will include a new project that will turn flat paper into a three dimensional form... I won't spoil the surprise just yet, but it will involve a bit of hands on from you!

Polyhedra is on it's way, just working the final touches!

Little shop of Retro Delights

Check it out, I have a new LITTLE online store! Some of you already understand that I am a bit of a collector and love all things vintage. Actually, many of my Messagemark designs and colour palettes are inspired by the retro objects around my home, and anything from the 1950-1960 era.

I am often out and about and come across some delightful retro finds so you will see the odd treasure making it's way to this little store of Retro Delights. You will also find some other crafty goodness that I dabble in, like my K2 Scarf.

Retro Delights is simply another blog that I have written for a few years. It's a way for me to  share and celebrate the goodness in all things retro, plus some of our projects from around the home to turn the old into new.

Go on, get your daily dose of retro goodness!

Enjoy,

Bowerbird Bazaar March 2012

Well the dust has settled and I am nearly finished unpacking from last weekend's Bowerbird Bazaar. Denis and I had so much fun working together on his Denis Smith Photography stand. I really do enjoy sharing Denis's story and photographic technique. It is so cool to see the customer's reaction once they hear how he achieves his Ball of Light creations. So inspiring!

So, it is impossible to go to Bowerbird without collecting a few new goodies, and this time there were many new products just itching to be taken home! Denis and I treated ourselves to a couple too... hard not to really! So what did we spend our hard earned money on?

First up this simple yet gorgeous brooch from Red Revival.
Cute wee bowls by artist Georgia Gabrielle. I'm going to use these for S&P.
A cheeky present for Denis. Cufflinks by Angus & Celeste
Gretel Girl Geometric Brooch
Gretel Girl Geometric Necklace - poorly modeled by me! Photo by Gretel Girl!

The lovely Sass from Ask Alice Stationery gave me these cards. Smiles all round!

Another treat for Denis - A wooden iPhone cover by A Skulk of Foxes
(However Denis picked the one without colour but thought I would add this pic cos it looks prettier!)

I'm starting to save up now for July's event!

Right at Home

Our Messagemark Deer Print was spotted in this gorgeous Melbourne home, as featured in the Australian House & Garden Mag - April 2012 on page 12.

It's great to see where our products end up living! Love it!
