It's been a sewing frenzy in my house. This is my second attempt at sewing a dress using an old 1960s McCalls sewing pattern (see first attempt here). I am so happy we are having some hotter days this week because my new dress is so cool and comfy. I even included a pocket on the front for my iPhone! I bought the fabric at an op shop and absolutely loving it with my yellow vintage wallpaper brooch from Delilah devine.

Go Girl!
My mate Mardi (from LittleLuv) was featured in the Eastern Courier yesterday, a brief story about her Charity trek in May.
We are very excited to support Mardi by hosting a fund raising / exhibition this March 16th. Proceeds from ticket and print sales will be dontated directly to Plan’s GirlsFund.
Plan’s GirlsFund was established to directly help identify and respond to the barriers girls face in communities. They recognise that discrimination against girls and women is one of the main underlying causes of child poverty. Plan’s projects in health, education and microfinance ensure that girls aren’t left behind.
The exhibition LIGHT OF HOPE features the unique photographic light painting by my favourite photographer Denis Smith! And the event is taking place at the Messagemark Design Studio, so this is also your chance to see where all the Messagemark magic happens!

VENUE: Messagemark Studio, 11 Jetty Road, Largs Bay

My Tech Savvy Cat!
Hestor asked me if he could have a Facebook page too, so I helped him set one up. Hestor certainly is a tech savvy cat! He can even use the mouse with his left or right paw! You can see Hestor's furry little corner of Facebook here. He hopes to meet many new friends both of the four and two legged kind! It would make Hestor very happy if you stopped by his page!

Dinky-Dye Window Display
My friend Georgia (a visual merchandiser) and I caught up last week at the Messagemark Studio to create a display featuring my new range "Dinky-Dye Designs".
It's so fantastic to be using my old bits and bobs from my Grandma, Parents and random hard rubbish adventures! I am now seeing everything with fresh eyes - Georgia did such a FAB job of combining my more modern designs with the old vintage and retro pieces. An eclectic mix, and the colours really work well together. I LOVE it!! So so cute. Wish my Grandma could see it!

Loverly Offer...
The lovely Cat from Be Loverly has kindly offered to give up some space for Messagemark on her stall at the Lollipop markets this Sunday 20th Feb. I will be setting up for the Twilight Market for most of the day, so unfortunately I can't get there. I'm chuffed to have my products displayed alongside these gorgeous hand stitched lovelies! The market looks to be crazy big with approximately 90 stalls! Huge effort by the Lollipop ladies! ...and loverly offer from Cat - Thank you! xx

light of hope exhibition
You are invited to LIGHT OF HOPE, a photographic exhibition and fundraising event designed to assist Mardi Zeunert's quest to raise awareness and financial support for Plan’s GirlsFund.
In May, my friend Mardi will embark on a trip of a lifetime with a group of 18 Australians, to trek through the Himalayas in Nepal and see first hand Plan’s work in the region.
Plan’s GirlsFund was established to directly help identify and respond to the barriers girls face in communities. They recognise that discrimination against girls and women is one of the main underlying causes of child poverty. The exhibition LIGHT OF HOPE features the unique photographic light painting by my favourite photographer Denis Smith! Based in Adelaide, Denis has taken traditional photography and added a new dimension with his light creations – a photographic experiment aptly named Ball of Light.
The event is taking place at the Messagemark Design Studio, so this is also your chance to see where all the Messagemark magic happens!
100% OF TICKET SALES WILL BE DONATED TO PLAN'S GIRLSFUND. DENIS WILL ALSO DONATE 100% OF MONEY RAISED FROM THE SALE OF OPEN EDITION PRINTS, AND 10% FROM THE SALE OF LIMITED EDITION PRINTS.

This time I will be wearing two hats at the market - a stall holder and market organiser!
Hope to see you there, and please help spread the word!

School Holiday Shenanigans
I had my niece and nephew stay last week so I planned some activities to keep them entertained. First we made miniature cupcakes, very tasty and sweet. They probably look normal size in the photo, but they were quite small and you could easily fit the whole thing in your mouth at once.
Then we ventured down to the beach to build a lounge room setting out of sand. We had big plans, a 3 seater couch, two single armchairs, coffee table and tv all facing the water. 3 hours later we only had the 3 seater couch and coffee table. Man did I sleep well that night after shoveling all that sand!!
